A Financial Advisor Website with a Personal Touch

Project Scope: Brand strategy, photography, copywriting, website design

Client Overview

Mike Vamvakaris is a financial advisor with over 20 years of experience. His wife, Ameerah, recently joined him in the business in Aurora, Ontario. His expertise and advice are superior but what makes him stand out is his customer service. He’s very genuine, honest and builds friendships with his clients. He’s focused on helping rather than sales. He partners with his clients to provide stability and security. This is what we want to come across in his website.

Key Audience:
Men aged 40-65 but has clients that range from teenagers to retirees. New business comes in via referrals.

Website Objectives:
• give clients easy access to their investments
• to show credibility and authority in his field to increase leads

Secondary Objectives:
• promote insurance as well as finance
• promote wealth managements

Website Design

  • Mike’s clients aren’t just looking for a financial advisor. They’re looking for stability and security for themselves and their loved ones. Putting these into someone else’s hands is a big decision so building trust through the website is the #1 goal. A good way to do this is to use high-quality images that reflect the quality of the service clients can expect.

  • Note that the images are not of financial advisors at work – what you may expect to see – but of the results the clients are looking for. They want to be financially and emotionally secure and to be able to pay for the big family events to come in their lives. By having images that show these results they see that Vamvakaris Financial understands them.

  • Testimonials are included as social proof for building trust, showing what it’s like to work with Vamvakaris Financial.

  • We helped promote insurance by giving it its own navigation tab. In busy travel seasons, the announcement bar at the top promotes their travel insurance and they can have a hidden sales page to link to for more details.

  • It’s easy for clients to quickly access their accounts with a link directly in the main navigation.

  • We added more quick links in the footer so they’re accessible from every page on the site.

  • Most new business comes from referrals, but Mike will be adding a blog/newsletter to help bring more traffic to his site.

Take-away

Remember that your customer’s needs go deeper than what appears on the outside. What’s driving them to look for your service? What’s keeping them up at night? That’s what you need to address on your site and in your marketing copy.

Bonnie was extremely helpful. We had complete and absolute confidence in how everything would turn out. We couldn’t wait to see the final result. We really appreciated how she asked very specific questions to determine the tone and the objective of the website. She’s very approachable and easy to talk to. Bonnie helped guide us through the whole process from beginning to end and had a great plan with questions and guidelines to help us out.
